HVAC Maintenance

Church of the Highlands is looking for an experienced, ministry minded HVAC professional to join our Central Facilities Team. This position will manage and direct all HVAC maintenance required at each Highlands' building/campus to accomplish the goal of providing and maintaining an environment of excellence and promoting the utilization of the Facilities Department to accomplish the vision of Church of the Highlands.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with commercial units. Units would include air-cooled chillers, rooftop units 10-30 tons (VAV), and Mitsubishi City Multi. Understanding of controls.
  • Must have the ability and desire to be a leader.
  • Self- Motivated.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Ability to manage and teach others.
  • Must be able to set & achieve goals.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks.
  • Ability to maintain a good attitude in difficult situations.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must possess a willingness to continually learn.
  • Must have a servant’s heart.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and adjust regular schedule to accomplish the necessary tasks.
  • Must be willing to work with and assist other departments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Facilities Director to handle all HVAC maintenance and repairs.
  • Meet weekly with the Facilities Director to discuss upcoming events, conferences and projects assigned by Facilities Director.
  • Work closely with Campus Facilities to assess HVAC needs.
  • Respond to all HVAC emergencies and make assessments.
  • Responsible for making sure HVAC is functioning as designed, including duct sensors.
  • Responsible for developing a routine HVAC maintenance and inspection program.
  • Contact point for HVAC in situations where Campus Facilities cannot handle the problem.
  • Help develop a training program for Campus Facilities, especially new hires in industrial basic HVAC, how to set temps and monitor systems, and change filters and belts.
  • Complete all work tickets promptly.
  • Responsible for making sure as best as possible everything is in working order for services, events, and conferences. Teach Campus Facilities how to manage this.
  • As scheduled, to be on call for all campuses during services.
  • As scheduled, come in on the days you are on call to handle emergencies.
  • To be on call to handle emergencies at all/any campuses during an event.
