Worship Vocal Director

Our purpose at Church of the Highlands is to reach people with the life-giving message of Jesus that they might become fully devoted followers of Christ. Church of the Highlands has an immediate full-time opening for a Worship Vocal Director. This position serves and manages all vocal training, education, and innovation for the Highlands Worship Department at Church of the Highlands. They cultivate a life-giving, passionate, and skillful worship culture for all worship staff and worship Dream Team. They assist with the invention and management of Highlands Worship vocal resources, managing said vocal resources, and developing campus worship staff and team members in vocal technique, vocal coaching and leadership building, on a weekly basis.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of worship leading experience at a local church.
  • A passion and ability to create vocal resources that empower worship staff and vocalists across Highlands campuses.
  • Professional vocal training and experience that elevates the vocal knowledge and experience of Highlands Worship services and resources.
  • Effective pastoral and administrative leadership.
  • Expertise in voice, piano or guitar.
  • Ability to create vocal resources that will effectively train Highlands Worship team members.
  • Ability to create, coordinate and lead a worship experience and vocal development experience, with a campus team.
  • Expertise in vocal technique, ability to coach vocally and effectively train other vocalists, in one on one or group settings.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn and use Highland’s systems – ROCK, Carbon, Sage and HighlandsStaff.com.
  • Ability to learn and use Planning Center Online software.
  • Ability to learn and use Logic Pro X software.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Worship Leader or instrumentalist for Highlands services.
  • Manage Highlands Worship team vocal resources and training.
  • Assist with scheduling of Highlands Worship services, when needed.
  • Assist with and participate in the planning and implementing Highlands Worship projects and department goals.
  • Assist campus Worship Directors with the training of their vocalists at their campus Worship Developments.
  • Pursue vocal knowledge and training practices for continued growth in personal vocal ability, and for the purposes of training and resourcing campus teams.
  • Manage vocal resourcing and training for student ministry services – ONE, Motion Night, motion midweek, or student worship development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
